I will say that the journey in learning a new language has been hard. It was hard for me to teach myself such a difficult language that consisted of 3 different alphabets. However, it was through daily practice that I was able to get better. Yet, it still interests me and I am looking forward to continuing learning. There are small wins, such as being able to understand some context in anime, which was a goal that I had started. It was weird trying to speak Japanese at first as well, but with time, it got easier, and I am now able to have a conversation in it, which is amazing.

Today, I finished watching the Sakamoto Days anime. It was very interesting, and for the last episode, I tried to watch it without using the subtitles. Unfortunately, I could not understand a good 95% of it, but there were some familiar words, which were nice! It is truly fascinating how we are able to learn a new language within a semester, even if it is just the basics. I can not wait until I am able to watch without subtitles one day.
